Pirate Ship Pinata

I know haven't posted for a while, it's just been a hectic summer.

Whenever I thought I would have a chance to sit at the computer, something would come up and off we went.

Right now I'm looking at the pictures from this afternoon's activities at camp. While I have a chance I thought I would share this post.

The theme this week at camp is pirates and princesses and I made a pirate ship pinata -- can you tell I've been busy?

Today was the day that the pinata was going to be the big event. Everyone had a great time and the counselors really stepped up to the plate!

If you ever make your own pinata as I did, try to use a lighter cardboard or the papier mache method.

The pirate ship I made was too large to make in papier mache so I used a heavy cardboard box. It was a hard to break apart, but the kids had a great time anyway.

We had bags of candy ready to toss out to the kids while the counselors were giving it the old college try.

I will eventually post directions for the pinata, I just need to be home long enough to sit at the computer. Please sign up for my RSS feed to keep up to date.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
