Repurpose Everyday Items

The kids are back in school and I'm just getting into a routine after working all summer at camp.

With the holidays coming up and my craft classes beginning soon I'm starting to gather together the items I'll need for my crafts.

I use as many repurposed items as I can in my crafts. By planning ahead to gather these items you can save the environment and keep a few extra bucks in your pockets by limiting the amount of money you would need to buy craft materials.

I also like reusing, recycling and repurposing everyday items because it is a great way to teach the kids ways to save the planet as well as use their imagination. It's a win-win!

I wanted to share a short list of things to save from items you use everyday. These items are great for crafts and sometimes upcycling items is a big time saver. You can make more crafts and the kids will have a lot of fun.

paper towel tubes - any size
milk cartons (paper or plastic)
plastic caps from milk containers and water bottles
empty cardboard boxes (cereal, cookie, pasta, etc.)
shoe boxes
soup cans
coffee cans
laundry detergent bottles
buttons
brown paper bags
old magazines and newspapers

There are lots of other items that can be repurposed, but when space is limited start by saving the items you know you will be using for a specific craft project.

  1. I love to repurpose things... I enjoy the challenge and reward that comes from turning something most would consider junk into something useful or pretty! New follower from the TOT hop! Hope you follow back! I hope you'll follow back! Thanks! Through the Eyes of a Tiger
