Upcycled Pajama Bottoms

It's been really windy and I noticed an annoying draft coming from the laundry room. I decided to make a draft dodger with an outgrown pair of fleece pajama bottoms.

It might have been just as easy to buy one that slides under the door but why spend money when I could make one and if it works then I've saved a trip to the store and probably saved $20.

This project is so easy and you don't need a lot of items to put this together.

You will need:
  • A pair of pajama bottoms
  • paper towel tubes
  • duct tape or packaging tape
  • needle and thread
  1. Gather together the paper towel tubes and tape them together until you reach the length you will need. Make 2 sets of the same length.
  2. Cut the pajama bottom along the seam at the crotch to make 2 separate legs. Stitch up where you made the cut so it is sealed.
  3. Place the 2 tubes into one leg of the pajama bottom.
  4. Sew the openings closed at the bottom of each leg.
  5. Then sew the waist closed at the top of the pajama.
All you need to do now is move the tubes to the seamed edges of the leg so that there is a flat surface in the middle of the pajama leg (see photo). Now slide the draft dodger under the door. The paper towel tubes will then be on each side of the door.

As long as there is at least 1/8" inch space under the door you can slide this cute little draft dodger under it and still open and close the door with ease.

Stay Warm!

    1. Thank you so much Frances. I'm so sorry I'm late in responding. My kids have been sick and it's been a so hectic that I haven't been blogging.

I'm honored that you have given me this award and I will definitely follow through with the details.

      Again, thank you so much,
      Michele
